Isn't this beautiful? Doesn't this look fun? My children and I were blessed with the opportunity to attend Aspen Grove's Single-Parent Family Camp this weekend. And OMGosh!(Remember I'm Mormon!) It was so much fun! We stayed in a lodge, we had delicious food (and I didn't have to do the dishes), went hiking, ropes courses and relay races! We had no phone reception, no tv, no computer. Just good quality time. I love being up in Provo Canyon. It's even better if you can stay the night :-).
Aspen Grove is owned by BYU, their students pretty much ran the camp. They planned the activities for all the age groups. They even planned out a campfire show. They were very witty!
We arrived on Friday, we got to check out games from the little store. We played CandyLand, UNO, Go Fishing and Pictionary. We also were able to check out racket balls and birdies and we played with those for about an hour. We had dinner and then our Campfire program. On Saturday we got to play, hike, and even attend a family dance. Wesley was in the Stompers group, the 3 year olds, and he got to play trains, learn some cheers and have snacks. Christy was in the 5 year olds group, the Kittens, and they too had cheers. But they got to play on a castle, a pirate ship and in a little village. During their group times, I attended a seminar and did some arts and crafts. Sunday there was a church meeting (Sacrament meeting) where members were able to bear testimonies and partake of the sacrament.
It was such an amazing experience. If you are looking for a place to go and bond with your family, I highly suggest you check out http://aspen.byu.edu/
